My understanding is this from many conversations with older masons in the San Antonio area when I resided there; lodge membership started declining, upkeep of building escalated, decision made to meet in another lodge building and cut expenses.
That from PGM John "Jack" Kelley and Br. Marshall...
This is just an off-handed idea= if you can obtain a list of all governors/ lt. governors, cross check it with membership rolls of the Grand Lodge.
Of course you would need to write/ speak to the Grand Secretary, and allow his staff to do the checking, but it may provide the info you seek for...
Re: Grand Lodge of Ky F&AM recognizes Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of KY F
LOL= what you have just spoken of has been my personal experience as a Freemason in my travels over 22 years in this fraternity. I have often been judged harshly by those who seemingly had an agenda having...
Re: Grand Lodge of Ky F&AM recognizes Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of KY F
It is my sincere hope also that we who practice Freemasonry can come together better, and truly follow our masonic obligations.
Br. Wingnut,
you have raised a valid question/concern/point. Way back when, in the old days, Freemasons rarely belonged to multiple bodies the way we do today. My grandfather indicated that lodge dues, when based on the economy as it was, were at a higher ratio compared to personal income...
Re: Grand Lodge of Ky F&AM recognizes Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of KY F
I am so happy to hear that it was treated as a simple procedural matter, which it was.
In 2004, I was living in Columbus, OH, and at that time a member of a mainstream lodge in San Antonio, Texas. There was a...
Re: Grand Lodge of Ky F&AM recognizes Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of KY F
Interesting... can you provide info on the process and how it was arrived at. I simply ask out of curiosity, wondering if it was long & drawn out, or fairly peaceful?
I enjoyed reading your comments about Br. King. Thank you. And in response to your latin quotation, I agree that Br. King didn't cut corners when it came to the work he did.
SMH;
because if a person is in distress of some kind, they are seeking assistance? Is it not our duty as Freemason's to offer aid to another Freemason and as human beings to offer aid in general. In fact, I recall that our ritual and charges say we are to show preferment to our brother...
Hmmm... I like the question posed but in truth, I do not have an answer to it. Though I come from a family with a longtime connection to Freemasonry, I have family members on both sides of my family that have not spoken to me since 1988 because I chose to petition to become a Freemason.
Excellent! The Symbolic Lodge should have your utmost attention.
First, the honor bestowed on you by your lodge warrants that one should work to improve their lodge.
Second, ALL the lessons of Freemasonry are to be found in the degrees of the Symbolic Lodge(EA, FC, MM-including the Holy...
The following is a statement issued after PGM Frank Haas' civil trial in Charleston, West Virginia. For the record, I AM the Freemason denied admission into Marshall-Union Lodge #8 in Moundsville, WV for un-masonic reasons which is what caused PGM Haas, then WV Grand Master in 2005 to take...

Further update/ article posted December 6, 2010 in Charleston Gazette. I AM the mason he speaks of who filed complaint with GL- WV.
The link below is to an article that ran on the front page of Charleston's Friday newspaper.
Brethren, I am posting a link that was sent to me by PGM Frank Haas regarding his case against the Grand Lodge of West Virginia.
"Make yourselves sheep, and the wolves will eat you." -- Benjamin...
Dear Brethren,
All of you have raised valid points with your comments, and my intent was not to cast such a wide brush with my comments. I will comment further on this; I AM beyond tired of hearing comments that seemingly overlook conduct that denigrates our fraternal organization. Other...
The point you have missed through all these conversations/ postings is that the GL-WV chose to violate it's own masonic code for it's jurisdiction in it's mistreatment of PGM Frank Haas, due primarily to racism, which has no place in Freemasonry, and never did.
I do wish you unknowledgeable...
