I simply have no keen friends in the Craft....are there any other mates that share my quest? Seriously?..

I have read 25-40 books and I built a cavern in the trees where I may begin to commense my rituals. IDK is there any advice out there?

Reading books does not equate to a Master Mason - you need to progress through the 1st, 2nd & 3rd through a recognized Lodge.
You CANNOT be a 3rd degree Master Mason without already completing the rituals for each degree.

These rituals MUST be conducted in a recognized Lodge and your cavern in the trees does not count as you have no charter/constitution from the GL.

Edited: I reread my reply and it seems harsh. I do not know you personally so take what I have to say about what could/would happen with your experience with a grain of salt.

I feel sorry for you in a way.

I learned about freemasonry through conversation with a mason who warned me not to look up the ritual on line or read any books that contain exposes.

Yes, I did go to X and start reading but I always closed it out before I got into it. I felt like I had my hand in the cookie jar. I felt the cookie in my hand but I never took it out to eat it! (lol)

Now here you are knocking on the west door. The experience for you is lost. It is your Kobayashi Maru. You will never be able to go through the degrees with excitement. The drama will be lost and it will feel like you are just going through the motions.

You will have a closed mind and you will have a sense of elitism over those in your "line" because you feel that you know everything that is being explained to you. You will dismiss any variation from what you are told by those masonically older than you and replace it with what you consider the truth because you read it in a book.

Ask yourself this. Why do you want to join? You don't have to tell us. Technically no one has to divulge why they joined. Mercenary motives or not. You must believe in a supreme being and if you lie about one of the questions you are asked, that is between you and God. I already eluded to it in my reply but you've read about it so you already know that :p

Seriously though. You need to ask yourself why you are joining. If it is to wear the emblem to be recognized "officially" then I'm afraid it is not for you.

As Freemasonry is a social group, expand your social circle until it includes Freemasons.

There is more to the Craft than self-education. We recognize that we can only improve ourselves so much and that the support and aid of our brothers allow us to reform in more ways than we could recognize without them.

I have to agree with all of the above replies. You are not a Mason much less a Master Mason if you have not gone through the rituals and work in a lodge recognized by the governing Grand Lodge of your region.

I guess I'm a little lost here. He made himself a "3rd degree mason" on his own in some trees by reading books? And now wants to teach and initiate people in his own personal make believe lodge? This is too weird.

Given my experience with message forums, I'm almost ready to just edit my original reply above and call this one a troll.

Join a lodge.

Think of it like this: You cannot have a keen understanding of sex until you have done it with someone else.

I agree with you completely. When I went thru it was totally in the dark. Would not have it any other way.

Why go thru it at all if you are gonna learn it all before hand. You should not be coached thru. It diminishes what it is and you will come out with half the experience

Soooo like, you masons are the same as the freemasons right? I been looking into them and very interested but not sure if there are any near by where I live and if so not sure exactly where... but before I get too caught up in it is there anything any of you can tell me what exactly freemasons stand for like what they do and believe and what areas they all reside?
