Raised Twice

My Lodge had a MM Degree conferral last evening. I was serving as Senior Master of Ceremonies as our appointed SMC was away on business.

After the Oath And Obligation and during the Grip Dialog, the Candidate fainted! Luckily the SW, SD and I were there to help him onto the floor and we used the "kneeling cushions" to raise his legs. He came around quickly and was more embarrassed than anything. After about 10 min or so he felt well enough to continue and he was certain that being extremely nervous was the root causse.

As a result of these issues this was the first time any of us could recall someone being raised twice in the same Degree conferral!

Glad he's OK and I can imagine that ws a degree to remember! Reminds me of the many formations in the military where people locked their knees and took a header.

Very embarrassing for the candidate... but I've seen it happen twice. In summer due to heat.

One of my Golden Moments in Freemasonry was having a candidate faint. It was in 2009 or 2010 (and had to look it up). I can't remember the Degree, it was a multiple First or Second.. I was one of the deacons and I was escorting him - and I caught him as he was going down. I always tell deacons to look after their candidate and glad I did ! He is now a Past Master twice :)

Glad you got to Raise him twice ! :)
