The problem is that many people that have experienced the real deal both as victims and as those that fought demons are not quick to talk about it. Most of them are very quiet on the subject and don't publicly advertise the fact.
Regarding other cultures, most of them aren't able to deal with...
I'll try to summarize my thoughts on the subject:
1. No one really and truly knows a lot about the subject. Only small fragments of information can be gleaned from a mass of speculation. I'll issue the caveat that I'm no expert, don't know much, and could be wrong on one or more points...
In the 1990's, while working in a home bound teaching program for a Texas county level special education co-op, I had a 1st grade student that was actually possessed. I don't really say that lightly because I actually had the opportunity to "test" her. For a long time she had exhibited many...
It is interesting that you mention Hebrew. I have been told by someone that people that have dyslexia often don't have the issue in languages unrelated to English. I have no idea if that is true or was just that persons impression. It would be interesting to hear about your experience if you...
Regarding my copy of Morals and Dogma that the SR owes me, I've decided to give them another call and see if I have better luck talking to someone else and if not I think I may get them to bring it to a stated meeting that I'll be able to attend in Nov or Dec. I'm still a little aggravated with...
I was very disappointed that the Valley of Houston didn't give the copy of Morals and Dogma. They ran out and gave a few of us a coupon for one. Unfortunately, when I called to get them to mail my copy they said they wouldn't do that because the $4 or $5 for book rate shipment would cost too...
I was once an anti-mason. I was misinformed by other anti-masons and through my ignorance opposed Freemasonry. Most anti-masons fall into this category. However, I do agree that the hardcore anti-masons are mostly a lost cause. I don't respond to "convert" the hardcore anti-masons. I...
AF&AM, F&AM, etc. is really just a difference in naming between various states in the US and between various "Mainstream" and Prince Hall Grand Lodges in different parts of the country. There isn't a real "practical" difference based on the name alone.
I have generally found that anti-masons of various types have either a fear of things they find hard to understand or a fear of things they find to be "different". Unfortunately, this often leads to intolerance, hate, and a propensity to attempt to cast their opinions as divine revelation or...
I joined the Scottish Rite at the last reunion. I went ahead and did an endowment. (I'm glad from my own personal standpoint that I went ahead and did that.) Had the dues increase occurred before my reunion, I would have reconsidered doing it. I would have most likely went with a different...
It looks like my work schedule won't allow me to make it this year.
TxMason, I'm pretty new to the AASR so I haven't been to the Feast of Tishri yet. Perhaps one of the other brothers can describe it better.
I would consider going. I haven't been in the AASR for long. I don't know anything about the feast. I assume that a suit and tie are appropriate. I assume the SR hat is worn. What else? I'm interested but intimidated a little about going.
