I have a cousin who, once she found out I was a Mason, became really interested in the Order of the Eastern Star. Are cousins allowed to petition to be in the OES? I would recommend her. She has a good head on her shoulders, did great in college, very social, and friendly. Thank you!
Thanks to everyone for your replies. I called the secretary of the Lodge and had a good chat with him for a while. They knew I was busy with work and school so he said they understood and that they would be happy to have me back. He also said they're getting a lot of members my age (I'm in my...
Due to college and work I haven't had the time to visit my Lodge (McAllen 1110) in the past 8 months. Or the Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shriner meeting either :( I miss it all terribly! Sometimes I think if I go back to my blue lodge people may be upset or not very welcoming since I've missed...
Thanks for the replies brothers. The reason we do not want to open a Lodge on campus is because we don't want to take membership from the Lodges in the area. That would be great though if we could open one!
Would it be legal under Grand Lodge law to start a Student Organization at my University? Can the words "Masonic" or "Freemasons" be used?
The purpose of the organization would be to unite brothers of the craft on campus and open to students, faculty and staff for fellowship. If people who...
I noticed ur a Knight of St. Andrew! I was Knighted in the Valley of San Antonio April the 9th. Our goal is to keep it a strong, prestigious, honor/working force in our Valley.
HOT and HUMID!!! At soon as May got here it was as if a heat wave hit us. Tommorrow high is surprisingly only 89 but with the humidity the heat index is 106* normally it's in the high 90's to be honest
There are so many books out there on the Scottish Rite degrees and so little about the York Rite. Would any companion's or Sir Knight have any recommended readings as far as York Rite degrees go?
I wish we still did it old school where we actually wore the rings...Do any brothers know of any websites where I may find a decent priced 14th degree ring? Silver, GP, or Gold. Most that I've found are pricey. Thanks
On the movie Shrek 3D
I think it's funny...

I just recieved my Scottish Rite degrees 2/20/2010 in Harlingen, TX. I started to read A Bridge to Light and I'm loooving it!! I can't express how much I love & enjoy Freemasonry and all of it's teachings. It's so rich, full of history and symbolism it's amazing! I hope to make every older...
We went through our Commandery Degrees and it was AWEsome! I'm loving the York Rite!! I recommend the York Rite to any Master Mason who wants more light in Masonry
One of the things my Lodge is doing to let the public know we're here is CHARITY work. Go to your local Walmart...there IS a manager that helps organizations with philanthropies. An easy one that we do, is you tell the manager you would like to collect canned goods, or dollar bills to donate...
I have to admit...it's great to see that masons can discuss religion outside of the lodge in a way different than most people would. The respect and consideratio we have for each other is great. Brotherly love
That's true JBD...refering to the politics within the employers company. I probably won't use that question then. This is good input though! I'm glad I asked this now.
someone had once recommended I ask for the candidates employer's name their phone number. This way you can ask the employer about the candidates conduct. Another good one, IMO is asking the candidate if Masonry is something they want to TRY OUT or if it's something they REEEEALLY want to be...
