    Grand Masters conferences

I attended the one we had last month in Nacogdoches. It was interesting, mostly covered Masonic charities and also touched on the issues concerning endowed membership monies. The best part was meeting some brothers I had not talked to in awhile.

    Houston Reunion Jan 30 & 31

I am sorry we did not manage to get together. What I really liked was the classroom sessions before each degree. It made it a lot better to have some background and history of the degree before seeing it.

    Taking the plunge!

A good place to start would be the Grand York Rite Bodies of Texas homepage. If you know any York Rite Masons in your lodge ask them for more information as well. They will be glad to help. It looks like there will be a Festival in Houston on February 21, 2009. You can get all the...

    Houston Reunion Jan 30 & 31

I will be there! BTW, is Friday just a casual dress event, ie. dress slacks and shirt? I know it says Saturday to wear a coat and tie.

    MD Anderson

Ah some Kindred Brothers. I underwent a radical prostatectomy at M.D. Anderson in Nov 2007. Great place to be if you need that kind of medical attention. So far no sign of any more of the bad stuff.

    Upcoming Worshipful Masters

I started our website. It's very simple but allows the less active lodge members keep up on what is happening. We also have a private email list restricted to just members of our lodge so we can exhange information and reminders of upcoming activities. We also have an online calendar of events.

    Scottish Rite

I have submitted my petition and monies for the January 30 & 31 Reunion at the Houston Scottish Rite. Really looking forward to it. It took me 9 months to complete the York Rite as we normally run candidates through a degree or order a month. We normally finish up in October with the annual...

Would you purchase a Texas Freemason License Plate?

I already run "vanity" plates on my vehicles. I would love to have a Masonic license plate. I always wondered why there was not one. Surely we can do this if all those other organizations can. Afterall, I think we probably have more than enough members. :)

    Moon Lodges

We meet the Saturday on or before the full moon. The best count I could get so far there about 6 moon lodges left in Texas. It was a common practice to have the meeting during or close to the full moon. This enabled the brothers to travel more easily during the winter months to get to the lodge...

    Moon Lodges

Just wanted to say hello! I just found this site and decided to register. I was wondering how many other brothers are members of a "Moon Lodge"?
