Same here. I really enjoyed the Scottish Rite degrees I experienced but to be honest, my travels through all the degrees and orders in the York Rite were more memorable. It took me almost a year to complete them all.
In another thread, a discussion ran into maybe we have too many lodges. The thought being we needed to consolidate the smaller lodges into larger ones in the same area. That in turn led me to wonder what are the largest lodges in Texas by membership. I have compiled a small list using the...
I understand the "normal" reasons for closing / consolidating a lodge. I guess what I was asking is, what guidelines he thought should be used for solving the "too many lodges" and why some people think we have too many lodges?

Would this not fall into a situation that required this to be conducted through the GLoT according to our Texas Masonic law?
Off the GLoT Website:
Note:-- Masonic Protocol requires that any and all Masonic Communications with other Grand Jurisdictions MUST BE SENT THROUGH THE GRAND...
Does anybody have any information on East Gate Lodge #1153 in the Houston area. It does not show up in the lodge locator on the GL website so I am guessing it was merged with another lodge. The reason I ask is, I have a photo given to me by my uncle, who is 77, that was taken in that lodge...
