Art. 505 in the Laws of the Grand Lodge of Texas lays out "Certain Other Masonic Disciplinary Violations" (what we used to call Masonic Offense). Subsection No.21 deals with wearing a Masonic emblem.
21. Being a suspended or expelled Mason, knowingly wear, display or use a Masonic badge, button...
Committee reports are part of the annual "book" printed by the Grand Lodge every year, I think, in addition to the annual reports of the Lodges themselves. It might be worthwhile to look through that decade for the report and any action taken resulting from it for the discussion that is likely...
I would hope that, if my wife were stuck on the side of the road, that it would not take a bumper sticker or decal that a Brother might notice to pull off the road to help her. After all, we are taught that our kindness is to extend to all mankind.
As men, we should be willing to pull off the...
THis brother, John Hagler, was Master in the late 50s and was DDGM when I was 1 year old (1967). I have met him a few times in Zerne Lodge and up until his health left him, he was a regular at the Lodge in Holland (not to be confused with Holland Lodge #1 which is in Houston). I hope to be able...
15+ Years. I am going through York Rite. I was raised as a MM in 1996 and shortly thereafter appointed Junior Deacon. Moved to the south, west and east. Sat a second term in the east 10 years after the first when the SW did not advance due to out-of-state obligations. The appendant bodies are in...
Brother,
Found this on the Grand Lodge website for Austin. Two of the Lodges in Austin meet on the first Monday of the month: University and Onion Creek.
I have attended University Lodge. In fact, as a courtesy to me, they allowed me to confer the Master's Degree on a young man whose petition I...
Brothers,
I attended the Cave Degree last fall and took three brothers in the car with me. It was great and I will be hauling another carload of Brothers this year!

Brother Stedman,
Sorry it has taken so long for a response, but I just saw this post. My answer would be this: depends upon when the Demolay meetings are. I am not sure if the Austin-area Demolay meets on weekends. You should also take into consideration whether he would feel more comfortable...
WM,
I recommend your lodge purchasing the notebook entitled Membership Mentoring from 2007. It has the Between Friends pamphlet, as well as an essay "A Response to a Non-Mason's Request for Information," a copy of the Petition, a copy of the Investigation Report, another Essay "How Well are we...
We have not had our Lodge vandalized in our small town, but in the past year, we have had an anti-Masonry pamphlet tucked into the door so that the first one there finds its. It is a cartoon book. I forget the publisher. I found it the first few times opening up for floor practice and another...

Brother Vick,
I just sat in on an EA proficiency of a man who was initiated 22 years ago....
There are a ton of reasons why the time expires.... or maybe excuses.
Regardless, when they do come back, we should make them feel welcome, I think.
For me, the Trowel.
If I can spread brotherly love and not discontent then I think I am following Christ's commandments:
’You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You...
I think the proper protocol is through your own Grand Secretary. You can browse the List of Lodges for the one you want to attend, but contact should go through the Grand Secretaries.
Our Lodge did an outdoor degree on a local brother's ranch. I was fortunate enough to confer the Master's degree on my nephew for that degree. It was great! Tilers were on four-wheelers. We had GL dispensation to do so.
The Altar and Stations were giant pecan trunks cut to size.
Texas...
Why would your lodge award a Life membership for going through the line?? I would think that most Past Masters are even happier to pay dues because we have been neck-deep in our Lodge and know the need.
March 1994 Short Talk Bulletin is on the Rusty Nail Degree...

Salado Lodge #296 has had a few cornerstone leveling ceremonies, some of which I covered for the newspaper I own before becoming a Mason. Two of those ceremonies were actually re-leveling of cornerstones on two historic structures: the first in the late 1980s for the ruins of Salado College...
