I was diagnosed when I was a kid, I haven't taken meds since middle school, I'm in college and have a 3.8 GPA, can I join the navy?

You will probably have to talk to a Navy Recruiter. I do recruiting for Army ROTC & one of the things that will get a student disqualified quick is being on ADHD meds. If you have been diagnosed & it has been a while since you have taken the meds, they do take it into consideration. I think one of the other questions they would probably ask pertains to you getting assistance in classes because you're not on the meds. Normally the doctor at the MEPS station will make the consideration though.

As an army recruiter our reg states that u must be off of meds for at least 2 yrs. You will have to provide medical documentation and a copy of ur transcripts to show that u can still function with iut the meds. A 3.8 gpa will get ur waiver approved...at least for the army

Btw all branches use the Armys reg AR 40-501 for enlistment qualifications. However each branch will have branch specific specifications...ie the usmc doesnt allow people with shoulder injuroes to join

He said that if I haven't taken medication in the last 1-3 years or so not to worry about it. He contacted a recruiter here in San Antonio Texas to talk to me.

Just contact your local recruiter. But as I've stated before it's best to go enlisted first and get some experience first. Your sailors will respect you more knowing you were once Where they are
